NEPA Maple Tour

The Northeastern PA Maple Producers will hold their annual Self-Guided Maple Tour on Saturday and Sunday, March 1st and 2nd, from 10 am to 4 pm.

Explore the fascinating process of maple syrup production across Northeastern Pennsylvania! This free, family-friendly event allows visitors to tour local sugarhouses at their own pace, witnessing the transformation of sap into golden syrup.

This year will feature 15+ local maple producers at stops throughout the area:  Burke’s Maple Farm, Streamside Maple, Journey's End Farm, Sticky Dog Sap House, Nebzydoski's Maple Farm, North Harford Maple, Shemanski Maple Syrup, Morning Sun Farm, August Acres, G&M Maple, Pocono Mountain Maple, Watts Hill Maple Farm, Dutch Hill Preserves, MomMom & Bops Maple Syrup and Keystone College Sugar Shack.  Stop by one, two, three, or all 15 to see the process of turning sap into syrup.  

Kick off your day with a hearty pancake breakfast at select locations:

  • Saturday, March 1, 8 am - 12 noon. adults $14, children 12+under $7, Damascus Community Center at 60 Conklin Hill Road in Damascus PA.

  • Saturday, March 1,  8:30 am - 12 noon, adults $10, children 12+under $6, Moravian Church at 982 Main St. Newfoundland PA.

  • Sunday, March 2, 8:00 am - 12 noon, adults $14, children 12+under $7, American Legion Post 964 Pleasant Mount, PA.

The tour is coordinated by the Northeastern PA Maple Producers Association in partnership with the Wayne Conservation District and Penn State Extension – Wayne County. The Northeastern PA Maple Producers Association has more than 25 members and represents “Sugar Bushes” ranging from a few taps to well over 5,000 taps.  Mark your calendar for this fun event and visit maple producers as they share their love for making maple syrup.

Spring Plant Sale - with Maple Syrup too!

Healthy transplants grown in Vermont Compost organic potting soil, started from seed here at Journey’s End Farm. Tomatoes, Eggplant, Zucchini, Lettuce, and more! Plants will be available starting on Friday, May 27th, for as long as supplies last. The sale is self-serve, except for Sunday, May 29th, when Kristin will set up a bonus maple syrup stand.

Fall 2016 Work Day #2

We're planning our second Fall Work Day for Saturday November 5th 9:00 to 5:00.  We'll provide a main dish for lunch.  We'll be post again closer to the date about what specific jobs we may be working on.  We hope that many of you will be able to attend.
